For mobile dog groomers
The call you cannot answer is the job you do not get.
You have one hand on a nervous spaniel and clippers in the other, in a van on somebody’s drive. There is no version of the next forty minutes where you let go of that dog to answer a phone, and there should not be — that is how an animal gets hurt.
Why it costs mobile dog groomers more
They are not shopping around. They are picking whoever answers.
Every enquiry is a slot, and a slot that goes unsold is gone for good; you cannot groom Tuesday twice. Worse, a groomer’s customers are loyal for years once they have found somebody their dog is calm with, so the call you missed was not one groom, it was every groom for the next five years — and it went to whichever van answered.
14% of calls to a home-services business go unanswered
CallRail — 1.1 million leads analysed in January 2025. Healthcare missed 32%, legal 28%, home services 14%, real estate 9%.

The question mobile dog groomers ask first
It depends on the dog. I cannot let a stranger pick a price and a time.
They pick the time; you set what is bookable. Sizes and coat types can be separate services at their own prices and their own lengths, so a doodle cannot book a twenty-minute slot meant for a terrier. The booking asks for the breed and anything you should know before you arrive — which is more than you would have got from a voicemail.
There is also a list of what this product deliberately does not do — worth reading before you buy rather than after. It is on the how-it-works page.
