For mobile mechanics
The call you cannot answer is the job you do not get.
You are on your back on a driveway with the car up on ramps and both hands filthy. The phone is on the passenger seat. Answering means getting out from under a car, and the call will be over before you do.
Why it costs mobile mechanics more
They are not shopping around. They are picking whoever answers.
Mobile work is priced on convenience, and so is the decision to use you. Somebody whose car will not start is comparing you against a garage that will collect it, and the deciding factor is usually which one they can pin down first. A missed call sends them to the recovery firm.
14% of calls to a home-services business go unanswered
CallRail — 1.1 million leads analysed in January 2025. Healthcare missed 32%, legal 28%, home services 14%, real estate 9%.

The question mobile mechanics ask first
I need to know what is wrong before I commit to a time.
Let them book the diagnosis. The booking asks what the car is doing — free text, on the job sheet before you arrive — so you turn up knowing whether it is a battery or a starter motor, and you have not promised a price for either. It is the same conversation you would have had on the phone, minus the phone call you missed.
There is also a list of what this product deliberately does not do — worth reading before you buy rather than after. It is on the how-it-works page.
